In my Bachelor’s degree at Utrecht University, I chose intellectual property law as an elective. That’s why I opted for the Master's degree programme in Law: Internet, intellectual property and ICT at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU Amsterdam). Intellectual property law is highly dynamic. Since the emergence of the internet, proper protection of intellectual property rights has become even more important. That’s why I find privacy law so interesting because the internet also has a lot of influence on it and because privacy is one of our most important rights.
During a student internship at a law firm after my Bachelor, I focused primarily on privacy law and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which was brand new at that time. It was then that I decided to pursue a career in law. Every day is different and that energises me. That’s why I just love working as a paralegal in IE/privacy at Van der Steenhoven advocaten!
I like to spend my free time with friends and family. I also love a good film or great concert. Otherwise, I really enjoy cooking and eating with friends. Cakes and desserts are my speciality.
