Linguistic games and legal puzzles: that’s what makes a career and a degree in law so much fun in general. It allows me to express my creativity and I always try to find an appropriate solution. I did my Bachelor’s degree in Law at Utrecht University and spent some time studying in Boston to broaden my knowledge. I then opted for the Master's in Business and Law, specialising in employment and enterprise. Both corporate law and employment law are continually changing, which is what makes it so challenging for me.
While studying, I did internships at various law firms and also did a stint as a legal adviser in a legal aid centre. Being able to apply my theoretical knowledge to help real people for the first time was extremely satisfying. That’s why I seized the opportunity to work as a paralegal at Van der Steenhoven advocaten.
After a long day at work, a challenging work-out re-balances me mentally. Enjoying a fun evening with friends or family also helps me to relax. Apart from that, I like to play the piano, and try to do justice to works by such greats as Bach and Mozart.
